Last weekend, bon vivants far and wide celebrated the ultimate foodie paradise at the 9th annual Food Network & Cooking Channel New York City Wine & Food Festival (NYCWFF) presented by Coca-Cola.  This gastronomic event has raised over $9.5 million for charity with 100% of the net proceeds donated to No Kid Hungry and Food Bank for New York City.  The festival offered something for everyone with over 100 events showcasing the talents of 500 chefs and culinary experts at over 40 venues throughout the city.

On October 15, 2016 food and wine enthusiasts spent their afternoon at the Grand Tasting Event presented by Shop Rite featuring Samsung Culinary Demonstrations presented by Mastercard.  Guests gathered at Pier 92/94 for a leisurely Saturday of sipping and sampling a prolific selection of food, wine and spirits in the 130,000 square foot epicurean arena.  Attendees navigated the gourmet utopia experiencing tastings from the best restaurants, top food and wine vendors as well as favorite brands.   The festival was an opportunity to learn recipes and techniques, broaden food and beverage knowledge and most importantly delight in the pinnacle of food hedonism all in the name of a good cause.  Renowned chef, Robert Irvine said, “There are less fortunate people in the world and this event helps make sure we can take care of them.”  The NYCWFF made it possible to interact with hospitality professionals and share in the experience to eat, drink and end hunger.  Food Network and Cooking Channel chefs hosted live cooking demonstrations on two stages throughout the afternoon showing guests how to make their signature dishes followed by a question and answer session as well as a meet and greet book signing.
